WHAT I DO...

   Teaching and Learning with Technology

  • consult with faculty to enhance teaching and improve student learning through the use of technology
  • work collaboratively with the Centre for Teaching and Learning, multimedia specialists, and other support personnel
  • conduct faculty workshops to develop pedagogical strategies for teaching online
  • assist faculty in developing a personal plan for teaching with technology
  • assist faculty with the design and implementation of online courses
  • develop online tools, such as Classroom Assessment Techniques, web-based assessment rubrics, and E-Surveys for faculty to use in their teaching
  • write online technical documentation
  • monitor current research and promote integration of best practices for teaching with technology
  • monitor and evaluate new advances in software and technology
  • serve on campus committees and contribute to activities that focus on teaching with technology
  • collaborate with faculty on other university campuses

   Using Technology to Support Research

  • I am interested in the variety of ways that technology can be used to enhance qualitative research methods, from voice recognition software to computer-aided analysis of qualitative data
  • I provide instruction in computer-aided qualitative data analysis (CAQDA) using QSR NVivo (formerly QSR NUD.IST)
