Starting a NUD.IST Project

There are two ways to create a new NUD.IST project:

1. Locate and double-click the NUD.IST software application program icon on your computer; or
   
   
2. If you already have a NUD.IST project open:
   
   
   • go to the Project menu
   • choose Close Project
   • from the same Project menu, choose New Project

If you haven't read Chapter 2: Your Project Folder/Directory you should take a few minutes now familiarize yourself with the four folders/diretories and the project startup icon that are created automatically any time you start a new project.

When you create a new project, NUD.IST provides a default project name entitled, My Project. I would recommend that you not use this default name but instead, choose a new name for your project that appropriately reflects the nature and content of your project.

NUD.IST also prompts you to type your name each time you create a new project. You'll want to check your spelling and use both lower and upper case to type your name because this is the way your name will appear on all reports you generate with NUD.IST.
